Book Review: No Errors in My Bible, Sorry About Yours – GettingBookReviews.com

Mark Johansen’s No Errors in My Bible, Sorry About Yours tackles over 90 claimed errors and contradictions in the Bible, point by point, systematically dismantling the arguments that ostensibly disprove the Bible. The author’s ability to address modern questions to which science and a cynical society have given rise is unparalleled. With such works as Religious others that have sought to undermine the foundations of Christianity, Johansen’s book comes none too soon.

Johansen writes from the standpoint of someone who “believes in facts,” having spent his life studying scientific and modern fields. He has found that “In the history of mankind there have been only two institutions that have consistently stood for objective truth: science and Christianity,” using science to support rather than disprove the Bible, offering a revolutionary take on the science vs. religion debate, he sets out to prove that both science and religion are correct.

One example of his ability to fuse science with religion and explain the absolute correctness of the Bible is in his exploration of “creation week.” Many have argued that it was impossible for light to have been created on the first day and for the sun to have been created on the fourth day; however, “this criticism reflects a na?ve and unscientific understanding of light,” explaining that on the first day God created photons and on the fourth day, he created the Sun. He works through each question posed to the validity of the Bible by applying scientific method and questioning, and showing the reader the research, failed theories, and eventual correct hypotheses that led to a scientific explanation of each Biblical event studied.

Johansen’s work is a stimulating and thought provoking read for both believers and disbelievers alike, providing a modern day foundation for examining centuries-old accounts and proving that they still hold true in today’s society. Through this book, which addresses each perceived Biblical flaw with precision and detail, we are finally able to reconcile science with religion, seeing that they are not mutually exclusive concepts, but rather can co-exist seamlessly. Johansen fulfills the desire for the thinking man’s assessment of the Bible, providing answers for the modern Christian.
